Recently I've been getting compliments about my face and today I want to share about my FIRST EVER botox experience!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that grew up with a very bad impression of botox.
Ever googled 'botox' on Google before?
Well, this is what you'll get!

Scary, right? This is exactly what I thought botox does to a person's face, until I went for a consultation with Dr. Benjamin Yim.
ベンジャミンイム先生に出会うまではボトックスはこんな感じだと

Botox is a highly purified protein that helps to relax the muscles that causes wrinkles.
It blocks the nerve cells that causes your muscles to contract.

Luckily, in Singapore only reputable aesthetic clinics and doctors are able to administer Botox.
でも先ほどの写真を見たら「安全」とは信じれない…ですよねぇぇ～
でもでも！！！
それはボトックスのせいではなく、打つ人がちゃんした先生じゃないといけないんですよ！
海外はあんまり詳しくないですが、シンガポールではちゃんとしたエステクリニックと先生しかボトックスを打つ事ができないので安心してください！
Dr. Benjamin Yim completed his medical degree from Monash University (Melbourne) in 1994.
He spent the next two years doing hospital postings in Singapore before attaining full medical registration by the Singapore Medical Council in 1997. He spent the next one and a half years as an infantry battalion medical officer for the Singapore Armed Forces.
In 1998, he completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the University of Wales. A year later, Dr. Yim graduated with a Degree of Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology at the University of London, together with completing a year at the renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology.
On my very first appointment (before the procedure), I got to sit down and talk to Dr. Yim. He wasn't pushy about 'fix this, fix that' but asked my concerns/parts of my face I wanted to improve. After hearing my side of the story, he gave me his insights and advise on what could be done to fulfill my requests. Dr. Yim was very nice and complimented that I had a nice nose and eyes (even though to this day I'm VERY tempted to get double eyelids) so I didn't feel like 'OH MY GOSH MY FACE HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS IT CAN'T BE SAVED!!!'
初めてのコンサルテーションの時イム先生とお話ししてすっごくフレンドリーで話しやすい人でした！セールズマンっぽく「これやれこれやれ」って押し付けてこなかったし、うちが気になる顔のパーツとかを熱心に聞いてくれた後アドバイスをしてくれました。
Anyways! The consultation ended after Dr. Yim explained the entire procedure in detail - including the side effects and things I can/can't do after the procedure. I felt better that I knew what will happen and what I should expect, instead of being oblivious and slapped with a bunch of information AFTER the procedure.
コンサルテーション後、ボトックスを打つ場所とか副作用とすっごく丁寧に教えてくれたので心の準備が出来てありがたかったです！
This blogpost will focus on the botox session but in addition to botox, I also had fillers done too!
What Dr. Yim suggested was to focus on these 3 areas
実はボトックス以外にヒアルロン酸注射もしました！
先生に進められたのはこの三ヵ所
1. Forehead おでこ - to make it more round and fuller
2. Chin あご - to create a sharper face and smoothen the skin
3. Cheek ほっぺ - For fuller cheeks/cheekbone
I was super excited to get the botox on my chin because...
一番楽しみだったのはあごのボトックス！！！理由は…

注射前のセルフィー(v^ー°)
Before this selfie was taken, my face was cleaned up and numbing cream was applied to the areas where the procedure would be done. The numbing cream takes a few minutes to kick in so that explains why I was taking selfies LOL!
ボトックスの前に顔のクレンジングと麻痺クリームを塗って効き目が出るまで数分あったので自撮りしてました(笑)
After the numbing cream kicked in, Dr. Yim came in to explain the procedure and the areas he'll be injecting the botox (and fillers) with a chalk pencil.
麻痺がいい感じにきいて来た後先生がボトックスをする場所をチョークを使って顔に直接見せてくれました。

それじゃぁ～ 始めましょっか！
My pain tolerance is quite low (my kareshi can testify), unless it's a massage...
my pain tolerance is quite low. I also HATE NEEDLES!
However the entire procedure wasn't painful at all! It actually felt nice because right before Dr. Yim inserts the needle, the assistant massaged my shoulder area to distract me...
and it worked REALLY WELL!!!
痛がりとよく彼氏に呼ばれて針は大の苦手です…
マッサージぐらいかなぁ～痛いの平気なの(;・∀・)
でも打たれてる時全然痛くなかったです！！自分でもびっくり(笑)
先生が打つちょい前にアシスタントさんが肩をモミモミしてくれたのでそれに気持ちいなぁ～って思ってたらあっという間に終わってました(笑)
The whole procedure is really fuss-free with no downtime whatsoever!
I was able to go to a food tasting event right after the procedure and even went to the gym for some light exercise.
注射後、ダウンタイムがいっさいありませんでした！
イベントで不通に食事も出来てジムにも行けました☆ 軽い運動なら全然オッケーです！

AFTER THE PROCEDURE
When I showed my friends/workmates ma new face - one of them commented
'You look like a beluga whale' LOLOLOL
友達と仕事仲間に
「シロイルカみたい」って言われました (爆笑)
まぁ、可愛いからもくないけどw
[3 Days Later 3日後]
The bruise isn't obvious because I applied concealer to hide it ♪
LOOK AT HOW SHARP MY CHIN IS!! IT LOOKS PHOTOSHOPPED (but it's nooooot!)
My chin still felt quite stiff and it's totally normal! It'll feel stiff a few days after the procedure but it'll start to disappear after a few more days!

フォトショップ無しでこんなに顔がVッぽくなるとは…自分でもびっくりです (笑)
この時点ではまだあごが固い感じがしますがそれはボトックスを打った数日後に感じる事なので心配ないさぁ～(^^♪
[1 Week Later 一週間後]
The bruise healed within a week (quite fast right?) and my skin felt SUPER SMOOTH!
I also love how it's impossible to do a frowny face!!!
痣は一週間以内に治ってお肌がすべすべになりました(^^♪
プンプン顔をしようとしても眉間にしわが全然でませぇぇぇ～ん！
The used-to-exist-Harry-Potter scar has pretty much vanished too!
おでこの傷跡もいい感じに消えてます☆
[2 Weeks Later 2週間後]
LOOK!!! No more super obvious umeboshi on my chin even with that face!!!
So happy that I got the botox done since the bestie and I were doing a photoshoot!
あごにあった梅干がいい感じにきえました!!!
ぷぅ～って顔をしても全然目立たない! ワオ~!笑

以前は自分の横顔が大っ嫌いでしたが、今は結構好きになりました♪

Super happy with the results and it’s not
SO DRASTIC that people don’t come up to me and ask “DID YOU DO SOMETHING TO
YOUR FACE?!” It’s very natural thanks to Dr. Yim!! It’s really important to
know what specifically you want to improve and to make sure the doctor you
consult listens to you and you feel comfortable and can trust them!
「成形した？」って聞かれるほどの変化じゃなくて、すっごくナチュラルな結果に大満足です！
やっぱり信頼出来てちゃんとした先生に打ってもらうのは本当に大切だって感じましたね。
So I guess you guys are wondering... How much is it?
The botox treatment ranges from SGD$400 and above depending on where you want to enhance.
さぁ！気になっていたお値段！
ボトックスは打ちたい場所によってお値段が変わるけど、$400シンガポールドルからです～！
Just remember! Botox isn’t permanent! The effect of the Botox will last from 3-6
months and it is recommended to repeat the
treatment to make the muscle less prominent!
ただじ！ボトックスの効果はずっと続きません！効果は３－６ヵ月持つので続けて打てば効果はもっと出ます。
