[FOOD X REVIEW] Four Seasons Hotel Singapore Market Fresh Semi-Buffet at the One-Ninety Restaurant
Recently I got to go on a food tasting to the one..the only...FOUR SEASONS SINGAPORE!!!
Our tummies are ready!
#team4seasons!
The award-winning One-Ninety Restaurant has upped their game and revitalized their signature Market Fresh semi-buffet!! You thought that their previous menu was impressive? Well now they have almost 30 entrees under 3 specialties: Apple Wood Grill Cuisine, Asian Favorites, and Italian Culinary dishes.
The restaurant also includes a Theatre Kitchen, where you can watch the chefs showcase their culinary magic à la minute over apple-wood fired grills, brick pizza oven and tandoori oven.
Giovanni Speciale, the Executive Chef and Director of Food, Beverage and Culinary Operations brings more than two decades of expertise honed across extensive experience in the Four Seasons properties around the world. He leads the expert team of trained chefs and local cuisine chefs who have featured in food festivals from abroad.
So what doe this mean? This restaurant has the culinary DREAM TEAM!!!
Check out the wide range of dishes to choose from!
If you think that they have the same dishes everyday...NOPE!
The dishes change daily according to the freshest and finest seasonal produce that the chefs source for the day. That means that every time you visit the restaurant, you'll get to enjoy a different dish!
Some dishes include ocean-fresh seafood salads, fresh herbs from the Four Seasons herb garden, cold cuts, and CHEEESE that's high quality and imported from France and Italy!
Seafood for you?
I'm a HUGE fan of cheese and especially Buratta!
Hungarian salami for you?
mmmm meatloaf!
The best combo ever!
melon x parma ham
My favorite section!
CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!
Say hello to my cheese and cold cut platter!
The dessert spread included their signature cheesecake, red velvet cake and other pastries by Pastry Chelf Audrey Yee - a Four Seasons veteran and graduate of the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School in London.
Dessert first, is the perfect phrase to describe ME!!!
GIMME ALL THE YUMMY CAKES!!
Carrot Cake x Strawberries? Count me in please!
Hello pretty cupcakes!
Yuzu Cheese Cake with berries on top!
I LOOOVE black berries! Look at how generous they are with the berries!
Raspberry Passion Fruit Shooter
I mean...all great things come in shot glasses, right??
One of their signature a la carte dishes is the DROOL-WORTHY Truffle Foccacia!!!!!
This is the Executive Chef's secret recipe! It used to be served to VIP guests only until multiple requests persuaded them to include it in the menu! Yes, this dish might look very simple but don't let it's appearance fool you. The SMELL of this bad boy is jaw-droppingly amazing with the addictive aroma of shaved truffles and FOUR types of cheese!!!
Let's go through the cocktails!!!
Passion fruit Caipirinha - Brazil's national cocktail made with Cachaça, sugar, and lime.
One–Ninety Spritz - A Spritz style cocktail consist of a low alcohol aperitivo, topped up with sparkling wine. Violets & Cucumber Gin & Tonic - Tempus Fugit Violette Liqueur is a less sweet version of a violet flower liqueur.
Ginger Mojito - A twist on a classic Mojito, using Plantation 3 Star Rum which is a blend of 3 rum from single islands (Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados).
I personally really liked the Passionfruit Caprihana and the Ginger Mojito!
Did I mention that they have an award-winning wine selection of '100 wines under $100' and wine-by-the-glass program to add the whipped cream n' cherry on top of your meal?
The menu was explained to us and the hardest part was...deciding what to order!!
THERE'S SUCH A WIDE RANGE OF YUMMY FOOD!!!
So we decided to get a dish or two from each section!
ITALIAN SELECTION
Fusilli Puttanesca: Literally translating to “in the style of prostitutes” supposedly due to the captivation from the aroma. This tomato-based pasta is packed with a good punch of capers, olives and basil.
When I first heard it I just thought it was my horrible hearing but NOPE!! It's prostitutes!
How...tantalizing? HAHAHAH
Mediterranean Octopus: Imported and marinated with herbs and spices of Mediterranean influence, the octopus is very tender, grilled over apple-wood fire to enhance the texture and seal the flavors within. Refreshing and light on the palate.
The octopus was COOKED TO PERFECTION! The tender octopus matched really well with the mashed potatos.
You can also feel that grilled-ness from the octopus too!
squid ink pasta with lots n lots of crabmeat!
and I mean REAL crabmeat!! Love the hearty portion of this!!!!
Ligurian Fillet of Sea Bass: Cooked during a heart-warming family gathering, this is usually presented by an elderly member of the family as comfort food for the young. It evokes childhood memories for many who reside in Italy.
This really felt like a hearty home-cooked dish. The flavors were on point and the fish was soft and delicious!
“FROM THE GRILL”
Australian Black Angus (200-day grain-fed tenderloin 200g): The leanest cut of premium meat this is good for those mindful of their weight but still wish to enjoy succulent meat. Extremely tender and grilled to perfection with the delicious aroma of apple-wood, this signature steak from One-Ninety Restaurant is a must-try.
STEAK STEAK STEAK!!!
I LOVE STEAK!! I just couldn't stop nomming on this steak since it's super juicy and tender~ If you're a wagyu kinda person then maybe this isn't for you but if you love your MEAT then this is definitely a must eat!
“ASIAN SPECIALITIES
Murgh Makhani Butter Chicken: A dish famous in the North of India, boneless cuts of chicken are marinated in tandoori paste and put into the oven before simmering further in tomato gravy with cream and fenugreek leaves before serving.
I just can't get enough of butter chicken!
Super yummy, tasty and this packs a punch!
One-Ninety Laksa: Live prawns from our watertank in the kitchen, scallops, cockles, quail eggs and a thick broth – these are the highlight in our bowl of Laksa. Also using a recipe from day one of our opening, the taste is familiar for patrons to associate with since 20 years ago, also the main reason why regulars keep coming back for more. .
A beloved dish for more than 20 years!
The taste explains WHY this is such an all-time favorite.
Cantonese style Hor Fun: This is considered our Celebrity Dish as it attracts artistes and influential people into the restaurant with its signature wok hei finish. With generous portions of seafood, pamper yourself lavishly with this local dish in 5 star setting.
You guys can taste the wok hei in the noodles! Such a fragrant dish and this dish tantalizes the senses - taste, texture and smell!
