[Life x Food x Travel] Jakarta, Bali, and Drama at the Airport!!
I've recently been MIA and I'm very sorry!!
BUT!!! I was over in Indonesia for a few days (a few weeks back)
If you haven't noticed... I'm a huge food lover so most of my pics are....FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
NOMNOMNOMNOM!!
So lets get started!!!
My AirAsia ticket!!
Gosh. In Bali...the worst incident in my life (so far) happened!!
AirAsia literally SAVED MY LIFE!!
They seriously need to get an award!
I'll tell you guys more about it later... so let's keep going!
So I arrived in Jakarta late at night (around 11pm?)
So I went to bed after I arrived at my parent's place then the next day...
LUNCH TIME!!
We had 日本食!
Japanese Food!!!

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS CUP!!!!!
It's actually a dark blue but with a little bit of a shiny blue tint to it!!

Started the meal with Chawanmushi!!!
A few of my friends said that my chawanmushi is quite yummy...
maybe I'll do a recipe post soon! :)
then... the mothership came...

Gosh. The food here was AMAZING!!!!!

After lunch was...
shopping!!!!
I went to several malls with my mom
and one mall that I went to made me spazz out like crazy...
why?
BECAUSE THEY HAD A NYX SHOP!!!
*happy dance*
As you can see... I was so excited that my photo ended up blurry..
lol
So I introduced my mom to their lipstick and she's in looooove with it!!!
Hopefully I can buy more things from this place!!!
OH! I actually bought something from the NYX shop...

after a quick shopping spree...
it was tea time!!!
We went to a cafe at Grand Indonesia
called ninety-nine!
Such a cute place! The food looked really good
but we were full from our awesomeness lunch!
Hopefully the next time I go...

DAY 1 (in Bali)

thank goodness I remembered RIGHT before we boarded the plane!

I went back to the villa that my family and I were staying at!
My mom found this place and she said this place had super high ratings by Japanese people!
So I was looking forward to what kind of place it was...
The name of the villa is called...

and I must say..
IT IS SUCH AN AMAZING PLACE!!!
If you like the sea view and open air villas...
this isn't the place for you
BUT
if you like privacy, AIR CON 24 HRS, lots of hot water from the tap,
and LOTS OF SPACE

We went to this place called the Pearl Restaurant
It was a really nice French restaurant!!!
It was an outdoor restaurant WITH A BUNNY HOPPING AROUND THE RESTAURANT!!!
I swear I thought when I first saw a furry blob I said
'Awww.. Kitt....y.... WHAT THE?!?!?!'
'IT'S A BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!'
So this restaurant gets extra brownie points
for having a cute critter hopping around the place!

Loved how they had real flowers as decoration along with the candle!!

Came home and this was what my bed looked like!

So for our second day... we were going to this super nice place for lunch!
It was like 1.5 hrs away from town
(So I fell asleep during the ride there...lol)

(duh. the view is AMAZING?!!?)
So we had a 3 course lunch!

After lunch we hung out at the beach for a while
and went back to the town to do some shopping!
Before dinner...
I begged my parents for a massage!!
My lower back tends to get sore easily so when I heard we were going to Bali...
'massage' was on my mind the WHOLE time!!!
So my dream came true!
The people even came to our room to massage us!!
When I finished my massage...
a light snack was waiting for me!

My friends brought me out to explore Bali!!
(cuz it was my last night in Bali!)

(when I first heard it I thought it was 'bubble gum' lol)
I found out it was from this movie called 'Forrest Gump'
I never watched the movie but it was playing on repeat on some of the TVs so I kinda understand the gist of the movie now!! lol
So when you want to catch the staff's attention,
you flip this car plate to a green one that says
'GO FORREST GO'

we headed back to our villas!
The last night was AWESOMENESS~!!
Got to know everyone much better and had lots of fun moments!
When I got back... I got ready to sleep~
But I have a bad habit of watching tv
before sleepy time
So I was watching NHK and...
GazettE appeared on the show!!
(It was a music show)

Then I was able to fall asleep happily~
DAY 3...last day (in Bali)
Then our last day in Bali finally came...

Off to the airport!!!
NOW HERE'S THE STORY ABOUT HOW I LOVE LOVE LOVE AIRASIA!!!!
My parents were taking the domestic flight back to Jakarta and I was taking the international flight back to Singapore.
So in the Bali airport... those two airports are on the opposite ends of each other.
My parents' flight was one hour after mine so they sent me off first and I did the usual...
go through customs, scan my belongings, and headed towards the ticketing counter.
When it was my turn to get my ticket... I got a quick glance at my passport and realized...
I HAD THE WRONG PASSPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE PASSPORT I HAD WAS MY MOM'S!!!!!!
I seriously felt my heart stop...
My mom and I look kinda similar so when I first saw the passport I thought it was mine...
BUT
The moment I saw the passport signature... I felt like crying T_T
So I spazzed out telling the lady that this isn't my passport!!
Problem was... my flight was about to start boarding in less than 20 minutes!!
I begged them to see if they can call the Domestic Counter to see if my parent's were there and they were nice enough to lend me their phone so I could call my parents.
But for some reason... it kept going to the 'sorry, the number you called is unavailable'
(panic level +10)
Then I ran out of the checking in area and ran to the international airport customer service people
(while I was rolling my carry on luggage with me... I probably looked really stupid)
and explained to them my situation...
then they pointed at the AirAsia and I ran again to the counter
I was super out of breath and SUPER SCARED I would miss my flight but the lady in the counter was REALLY kind and she said she'll help call my parents for me and when I was telling my dad
I HAVE MOM'S PASSPORT!!! WHAT DO I DO!!
Then my dad was like the Flash and started RUNNING from the Domestic Airport to the International Airport!!!!
While my dad was running,
I was spazzing out.
Then the AirAsia lady was SUPER nice and said she'll print out my airplane ticket for me so all I have to do is to run to the immigration place!
(how nice is she?!?!?!?!)
Then my dad came to my rescue, gave me a hug, and told me to GOOOOOOOO!
But 1 problem.
I had to go through the safety procedure of... 'line up, show passport, scan bag'
AGAIN!!!
I told them I JUST DID IT!! MY FLIGHT IS ABOUT TO GO!!!!
But they said I had to line up (and the line was REALLY LONG)
So I can tell you that Bali's airport is super safe
because they don't take any excuses.
BUT!!!!!!
Praise the Lord and all the other people who were lined up to get their passport checked....
THEY LET ME CUT IN FRONT OF THEM!!
Gosh... I was about to start crying not because I was almost about to miss my flight...
but because of everyone's kindness T_____T
While I was at the immigration counter I kept praying in my head...
'PLEASE DON'T CALL MY NAME
PLEASE DON'T CALL MY NAME'
You know.. the announcement that they do in the airport...
'Mr/Ms/Mrs ______ on flight ____ to ______,
please make your way to the ___ Gate immediately'
I find that super embarrassing and it's only happened once in my life
when my mom and I got lost in an airport when I was younger.
THEN RIGHT WHEN FINISHED GOING THROUGH
THE IMMIGRATION COUNTER....
*ding dong pang pong~*
(something in Bahasa)
Singapore...
(In my head: crap... *runs*)
Ms. Kiy-...
(NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *runs faster*)
BUT I WAS SUPER BLESSED!!!!!!!!
The gate was the closest one from the immigration counter
AND!!!
The passengers were still trying to sit down!!!!!
(Because they had some problems with getting their bags up in the upper compartment)
So I got to avoid the 'you're the reason why we can't depart on time' look from everyone!
*phew!*
Then I sat down...and passed out into dream land because IT WAS SOOOO EXHAUSTING!!!
When I woke up... it was time to land!!
That was my crazy experience in the Bali Airport!

who allowed me to cut in front of them!

So that was my trip to Indonesia!
I got super tanned during this trip...
I'll have to look for some products that are really good for whitening
